     This gallery is a tribute to  Conde McCullough, who had been Oregon’s Bridge Engineer from 1919-1935.  He built  Oregon's outstanding arched bridges…many on the coast…but a few scattered around the state.  Having photographed these bridges, we will never look at a bridge the same way again.
       Each image is a hand brushed acrylic painting stretched on canvas.  Together they make a color matched unit with quite a punch!
      McCullough's bridges always snuggle into the site and he labored to make them pleasing to the eye.  He pioneered the design and construction methods necessary to build cost effective concrete arch bridges.  Lucky are we that they have been maintained or refurbished since the 20's and 30's... The Golden Age of Engineering.
      McCullough is credited with helping design & build 600 bridges in his career.  Among them, our favorites are listed below.
